Muscle Building Workout: Stick With These Tips

A muscle building workout is one that looks a lot like this: showing up to the gym religiously until you achieve your goals. Gaining mass isn’t something that you can do without effort. You can clean up your diet. You can up your protein intake and minimize sugars and streamline saturated fats, but without the proper muscle building program you will not gain a single pound of muscle.

One common misconception is that in order to train to build muscle you have to do things a certain way. Tip number one: there is no right or wrong way to train, there are only beneficial and non-beneficial ways to train. Don’t buy into the regimented approach to fitness; the ones that herald certain mantras like, “you can never use your own body weight to increase mass,” or “you should always lift as heavy as possible,” or “you should always be pushing to utter fatigue,” or “you should never allow yourself days off.”

The truth is the biggest hurdle a bodybuilder will face is avoiding these types of absolutes. You have to develop a variety of workouts that you can place on a rotation. If you use the best elements of training in each rotation of workout, you will see faster gains, fat loss, and a decreased risk of injury.

Tip number two: there is no magic diet plan. You just have to be smart about timing and calorie consumption. One man’s smart is another man’s stupid, and unfortunately, with so many people trying to turn a profit in the fitness industry the diet has been massacred to resemble nothing but a hodge-podge of inconsistencies and dangerous lies.

The facts remain the same, protein and fat are the preferred forms of calories for weight training since they naturally take less time to break down in the body and keep insulin levels controlled. However, this doesn’t mean your body can go without carbohydrates for energy. Time your calorie intake correctly and you will be able to feed the muscle at the appropriate times, which will increase muscle mass and melt the extra inches.
