EXPERIENCE THE DIFFERENCE IN OUR APPROACH TO MUAY THAI KICKBOXING IN TORONTO
While most martial arts and kickboxing schools emphasize tradition, strictness and rigid conformity, we have decided not to follow their approach. Instead, when you enter our gym, you will find a relaxed and non-judgmental atmosphere that thrives on intense and progressive training. Come and experience the difference for yourself!
WHY CHOOSE TKMT?
We are the first and only Muay Thai kickboxing and combat fitness facility in the city that successfully eliminated the negative stigma that surrounds martial arts/boxing gyms; the traditional “meathead” and “thug” attitudes that characterize other gyms are not welcomed here. TKMT is distinguished by cleanliness, friendliness and professionalism. As such, we appeal to the mass population looking for a comfortable and non-intimidating environment to learn and train in, as opposed to attracting a small crowd of egotistical “tough guys.” Overall, this has resulted in a surge of people joining our gym, with many of them being women. In fact, we are proud to have the largest number of female members out of all the martial arts training facilities in the Greater Toronto Area.
To further our reputation and credibility and to steer us away from the “just another aerobic kickboxing gym” image, we have recruited a number of elite instructors that are professional fighters. In addition to having their expertise elevate our training, they work tirelessly in maintaining a strong and progressive fighters’ program for our active competitors and for those that are considering competition. TKMT welcomes you to our team!
muay thai and weight lifting?
is it possible to train in muay thai for 1 and a half hour 6 days a week and lift weigh 6 days a week with proper nutrition
It’s basically what I do.
I got really lean and light from Muay Thai but then I felt too small when I’d spar against the big dogs in the class. I decided to pack on some lean mass to help me out.
You’ll want to make sure you’re getting enough protein. I use Pro 7 whey protein and mix it with almond milk. I have 1 in the morning, 1 after a workout, and 1 before bed. Also you may want to ease into things because if you over train you’ll lose sleep or worse you may injure yourself. Split up the muscle groups you train so you have enough time to rest in between.
Also make sure you’re getting enough calories, vitamins, minerals, and water.
