Learning mixed martial arts under guidance

MMA cage fighting is also called mixed martial arts. This needs lot of training before you master it. To be a good fighter you need to learn different styles of attack and defense.  For preparing yourself for the fight that needs lot of power, you need to have high stamina and strength which also needs training.

Most of the MMA martial arts championships have 3-5 rounds of 3 minutes each.  If you are planning to get trained in this form of martial art then you need to know about the training. The training involves training on stand up fighting technique, ground fighting, grappling and submission, strength training and other workouts to prepare your body for these training and for taking stress.

Wrestling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) are two most common styles of mixed martial arts and if you seen any of the matches then you would realize the fact that you can’t learn them on your own. If you are thinking about finding a good training academy or a good coach then you can use internet.

MMA cage fighting  not at all for self defense because it has been developed for fight inside the ring but the strength that your body gets because of the training can certainly help you in self defense. This sport is mainly for males between the ages of 20 to 30 years.  To avoid any long term injury in the fight or during the training you have to be very cautious and be under observation. This is very important because the risk of receiving injuries is very high in the game.

You can join a training academy or have a coach to train you for MMA martial arts. It may not be a good idea to start the training by watching the videos available on internet. You may end up hurting yourself without a coach around you.

Mixed Martial Artist needing diet/whey protein advise?

I have been into mixed martial arts for about 15 years now, and this year was asked to take over my college’s MMA Club. However instead of training and gaining muscle this past summer I got very sick and was bed ridden and extremely limited in my excerise for nearly 2 month. Now that I am of again I had a very close friend who body builds create a workout routine for me. However what I am wondering about is this….I’m 21 5’10″ and now due to getting sick only way about 142lb. I would like to gain about 15 lb of muscle but I want it to be cut muscle not bulk muscle. I started to use Whey protein but am not sure as to when/how much to take it. I am looking for help maybe from other MMA fighters or body builders or whatever with how to get where I want to be diet/direction on the whey…anything I really appreciate it. PS if the you need to know tha amount of workout, I go 6 days a week for about 1-1.5 hours a day of non stop routines.

1.5 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight is generally recommended.

The best time to take in protein (or other food) is within 20 minutes of exercise.

I’m not sure why you have a specific weight in mind, as Bruce Lee did quite well by focusing on pure strength. Here is a good program though:
